This paper is not about reviewing the theoretical approach (from Smith, Schumpeter and others) regarding the relationship between competition and economic growth. Its purpose is just to test the existence of a relationship between the dynamics of gross domestic product and the intensity of competition, on a worldwide sample, made of 142 countries, between 2007 and 2017. We have proved the existence of a positive and significant impact between the intensity of competition and the dynamics of gross domestic product.
